Ziro unites to enhance Mission Clean Kley River for a greener future

Ziro: The residents of Ziro Plateau came together in a mass meeting held at the district secretariat on Friday, with a collective commitment to enhance the effectiveness and success of Mission Clean Kley River (MCKR) compared to previous iterations.

During the meeting, Lower Subansiri deputy commissioner, Bamin Nime, endorsed the proposal put forth by the Apatani Youth Association (AYA) to implement a pilot phase for the river cleanup operation.

This strategic move aims to streamline, enhance effectiveness, and better coordinate the Kley River cleaning process.

Additionally, the DC announced to issue an order against open defecation in specific areas within the valley.

Emphasizing the importance of collaboration, AYA president Tapi Mali urged the heads of departments, PRI leaders, students, and the general public of the valley to join forces in support of the upcoming 9th edition of MCKR, scheduled for the 13th of this month.

Mali highlighted that in the previous year, more than 4000 individuals from the Ziro valley participated in MCKR, and he expressed optimism that this year’s turnout would surpass the previous one.

The Kley River, spanning 27 kilometers and the sole waterway in Ziro valley that touches every village on the Apatani plateau, holds tremendous significance.

The AYA initiated the river cleanup campaign in 2015, eventually transforming it into an annual event.

The meeting welcomed the presence of several dignitaries, including SP Keni Bagra, DMO Dr Nani Rika, heads of departments, members of AYA, Apatani Gaon Bura, Gaon Buri Association and NGOs.

Simultaneously, the AYA appealed to the deputy commissioner to issue an order allowing the sale and use of environmentally-friendly, green firecrackers during the upcoming Diwali celebration.

They suggested permitting firecracker use until 10 pm to ensure a safe and pollution-free Diwali celebration.

Single Window Clearance System:

Lower Subansiri district marked a significant milestone by becoming the 14th district in the state to implement the Single Window Clearance System for the issuance and renewal of trading licenses to entrepreneurs.

This initiative was made possible through the state’s “Ease of Doing Business” portal, accessible at www.eod.arunachal.gov.in.

A dedicated team of officials from the Planning and Investment department conducted comprehensive hands-on training for the Lower Subansiri district administration to effectively implement the single window clearance system.

The first digitally issued trading license under this system was presented to entrepreneur Duley Bajo by Lower Subansiri deputy commissioner Bamin Nime at his office. This marked a momentous step towards streamlining and simplifying the licensing process for entrepreneurs.

DC Nime commended the collaborative efforts of the Planning, Trade, and Commerce departments, emphasizing that the online application and issuance of trading licenses would alleviate the burdens on entrepreneurs, sparing them from the traditional rigmarole of visiting various offices and treasuries.

Entrepreneurs can now conveniently obtain new licenses or renew existing ones from the comfort of their own homes.

This project is a pivotal component of the broader “Ease of Doing Business” initiative, aimed at ensuring that entrepreneurs receive seamless and transparent service delivery to support their business endeavors. The event also witnessed the presence of key officials, including district planning officer Joram Tatum, trade development officer Sorang Yapa, and other representatives from the planning, trade, and commerce departments.
