Government commits full support to strengthen APPSC

Itanagar: The state government has assured to provide all required support for the smooth functioning and strengthening of the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC).

This was on Friday informed by chief secretary Dharmendra through his official ‘X’, formerly Twitter handle.

According to the information shared by the chief secretary, a meeting was held between him, APPSC chairman Pradip Lingfa, member Koj Tari and commission secretaries Swagat Biswas and Yashpal Garg on Friday during which matters related to manpower, cadre control and other important issues regarding the proper functioning of the APPSC were discussed at length.

“In a brief meeting with Chairman APPSC Shri Pradif Lingfa, member APPSC Col. Koj Tari (Retd), Secretary APPSC Shri Swagat Biswas and Secretary AR Shri Yashpal Garg discussed issues of manpower, cadre control and other important matters related to the proper functioning of Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission,” the chief secretary said on X.

“State Government will provide all required support for strengthening of the Commission,” he added.

This is the first official meeting of the newly inducted APPSC chairman and member with the chief secretary after assuming their respective posts recently.

The chairs and memberships of the APPSC chairman and members fell vacant in October 2022 last year subsequent to the resignation of the previous officials from their respective roles.

The decision to step down was prompted by the exposure of a question paper leak.

The paper leak incident came to light after one Gyamar Padang, a candidate of the APPSC assistant engineer (civil) examination himself, filed a police complaint before the Itanagar police station on August 29 claiming that he suspected that the examination paper had been leaked.

The case was initially investigated by the Capital police and later transferred to the Special Investigation Cell (SIC) of the state police and then the CBI.
