Simultaneous Polls: CM eyes clean sweep by BJP

Itanagar: Chief Minister Pema Khandu has urged all individuals who did not receive BJP tickets to contest the ensuing elections to support the party’s official MLA and MP candidates to strengthen the BJP-led governments at the Centre and state.

Speaking at a review meeting of BJP’s official MLA candidates for the upcoming general election to the state legislative assembly, Khandu emphasized state BJP’s goal of winning all 60 assembly seats, along with both the western and eastern parliamentary seats.

He highlighted the developmental activities and achievements in Arunachal, detailing the criteria and selection process for party tickets.

Stressing the importance of securing significant majorities for MP candidates in their respective constituencies, he called upon all BJP MLA candidates to shoulder this responsibility.

Khandu also emphasized maintaining discipline during the campaign and warned of action against party leaders who do not support BJP’s official MLA and MP candidates.

The BJP had on March 13 announced candidates for all 60 assembly constituencies in Arunachal, dropping three ministers and fielding 16 fresh faces.

Singhal also discussed the rapid development of Arunachal under the BJP government and highlighted the detailed guidelines of the Election Commission of India, urging all candidates to be cautious while filing nomination papers and to abide by the guidelines.

He assured continuous support from the party for the same.
