Tawang: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu submitted his nomination for the upcoming April 19 assembly elections on Friday.
Representing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Khandu is set to contest from the Mukto constituency in Tawang district.
Khandu filed his nomination papers at the additional deputy commissioner (ADC) office in Jang, amidst the presence of his supporters and cabinet colleagues.
The chief minister later posted the development on X.
“A special day as I filed my nomination paper as a candidate for 3-Mukto (ST) Assembly constituency. I am humbled by the overwhelming support and encouragement from all corners,” he said.
Khandu further assured his commitment to the comprehensive development of his constituency and the state at large during interactions with the public.
“I am committed to working tirelessly for the welfare and progress of every citizen, ensuring that their voices are heard, and their needs are met. Gratitude for your trust and support,” Khandu reiterated in another post.
Arunachal Pradesh is gearing up for simultaneous Lok Sabha and Assembly polls in the first phase on April 19.
