Arunachal: BJP refutes AAP’s corruption claims, defends clean governance

BJP spokesperson Techi Necha, countered Singh's claims, asserting that the AAP's accusations against the BJP-led government lacked substance.

Itanagar: The Arunachal Pradesh unit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has strongly refuted the allegations put forth by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) spokesperson, Sanjay Singh, during his recent visit to the state.

The BJP firmly defended the leadership of chief minister Pema Khandu and challenged the AAP’s accusations.

Addressing a press conference at the party headquarters here on Saturday, BJP spokesperson Techi Necha, countered Singh’s claims, asserting that the AAP’s accusations against the BJP-led government lacked substance and seemed to be an attempt to divert attention away from the AAP’s own alleged corruption issues.

Singh had on Friday, leveled allegations against the current BJP-led state government in Arunachal Pradesh, citing significant corruption within the state.

Necha during the press briefing pointed to numerous instances of purported corruption and misconduct within the AAP, both in Delhi and Punjab, highlighting what he perceived as a significant departure from the party’s original anti-corruption stance.

The BJP spokesperson reaffirmed the commitment of the BJP Arunachal Pradesh to principles of transparency, accountability, and a zero-tolerance approach to corruption under the guidance of Chief Minister Khandu.

He emphasized that the BJP government in Arunachal consistently upheld the values of clean governance and integrity in various areas, including matters such as highway compensation, the Arunachal Pradesh Staff Selection Board (APSSB), and the Arunachal Pradesh Public Civil Service Examination (APPCSE) paper leak case.

The BJP Arunachal Pradesh spokesperson went on to enumerate several instances of alleged corruption within the AAP, such as the party leader and Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal’s alleged involvement in the liquor scam, implication of Delhi health minister Satyendra Jain’s in a money laundering case, arrest of Delhi Waqf Board chairperson Amanatullah Khan in connection with an illegal appointment scam.

The BJP also highlighted extortion allegations against Fauja Singh Sarari, a cabinet minister in the AAP Government in Punjab and AAP’s health minister in Punjab, Vijay Singla, being linked to a 1% commission scam on tenders, among several others.

Nechi said that the AAP’s intentions appeared to be centered on “looting and plundering public money” under the guise of representing the common man.

He further dismissed Singh’s corruption allegations against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Khandu’s government as “unsubstantiated and lacking in truth.”
