Roing: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Thursday emphasized the crucial role of effective planning at the government level to achieve comprehensive development in the state.
He stressed the significance of a meticulous survey and data collection process, citing the upcoming census as a pivotal exercise for informed decision-making.
Addressing a large gathering during the inauguration of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VBSY) and a Seva Aapke Dwar 2.0 camp in Bizari near here, Khandu, while acknowledging the delayed 2021 census due to the Covid-19 pandemic, expressed the urgency to conduct the census earnestly and emphasized the active involvement of district administrations and Panchayati Raj institutions.
He reiterated the belief that planning based on accurate statistical data is essential for successful outcomes.
The chief minister explained that the VBSY is a nationwide campaign to promote awareness and ensure the saturation of Government of India schemes.
Simultaneously, Seva Aapke Dwar, a state government initiative, aims to reach eligible individuals who haven’t availed benefits from various state flagship programs.
Khandu informed the audience that the VBSY, initiated on November 15, will continue until January 26 of the next year.
“The Seva Aapke Dwar camps will persist until every eligible individual is attended to,” he said.
Claiming positive impacts on people’s lives, Khandu revealed plans to conduct these initiatives in all 2108 gram panchayats in the state, with over 300 camps benefiting around 14 lakh people already held.
During the event, the chief minister distributed benefits from various welfare schemes to beneficiaries and inaugurated 100 projects worth Rs 250 crores across Lower Dibang Valley district. Additionally, he dedicated an Eklavya Model Residential School with accommodation for 100 students in Dambuk.
Later in the day, Khandu officially opened the Orange Festival-2023 and flagged off the Race of Arunachal and the National Time Speed Distance Rally 2023.
