Arunachal delegates reach Ghana for 66th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference

Itanagar: The 66th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference (CPC) got underway on Wednesday in Accra, Ghana, with a prominent delegation from Arunachal Pradesh actively participating in the prestigious event.

Leading the delegation is state legislative assembly speaker PD Sona who is accompanied by deputy chief minister Chowna Mein, deputy speaker Tesam Pongte and Liromoba MLA and advisor to home minister Nyamar Karbak.

The inauguration ceremony of the CPC was graced by Republic of Ghana’s president Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and also witnessed the attendance of several distinguished guests.

Sona, who is also the chairman of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) India Region Zone-III, conveyed his enthusiasm for engaging in substantive dialogues on global issues during the conference.

He underscored the pivotal role of the CPC as a platform for addressing global concerns and fostering international cooperation.

The CPA’s annual CPC brings together parliamentarians from across the Commonwealth to discuss global political issues.

Each year, the conference is hosted by a different Commonwealth Parliament.
