Waghe inaugurates new BJP office in Tirap, emphasizes grassroots strength

Khonsa: State Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president, Biyuram Waghe, inaugurated a new office building of the BJP Tirap district unit here on Thursday.

The inauguration took place in the presence of RWD minister Honchun Ngandam, PHE minister Wangki Lowang, Khonsa East MLA Wanglam Sawin, BJP state general secretary (organisation) Ananta Narayan Mishra, state general secretary Nalong Mize, Tirap ZPC Chathong Lowang, Biodiversity Board chairman Tayek Goi and various other district BJP karyakartas.

During his address, Waghe emphasized the pivotal role of BJP karyakartas in strengthening the party at the grassroots level. He underscored the importance of effectively communicating and educating the public about various flagship developments in the state, led by Chief Minister Pema Khandu’s BJP government in the state and the Prime Minister Narendra Modi government at the Centre.

Waghe who later also paid a visit to the residence of the late Pongsa Saham, recalled Saham’s significant role in the party in 2004 when Waghe served as the state president of BJYM and Saham held the position of vice-president.

Urging the karyakartas to work diligently for the party, he highlighted that the BJP is a party rooted in the dedication of its members, promising recognition and opportunities for the hardworking ones.

Kamrang Tesia, the party’s district president, expressed satisfaction during the inauguration, highlighting the long-standing struggle of the BJP Tirap district unit without a dedicated office for the past eleven years.

The day also saw the commencement of the first Grassroot Party Cadre level training programme in the region.

The training, involving GPCs from Changlang, Tirap, and Longdoing districts, is part of a series of training sessions held across eight locations in the state, with the concluding session scheduled for Yazali, Lower Subansiri district on October 20 next.

Around 130 BJP GPC members from TCL districts are participating in the training.
