Itanagar: The Arunachal Cabinet on Wednesday gave the formal nod to recall the February 7 order on the new chairman and members of the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC).
It also recommended recalling the order to the Governor in its seventh meeting of the year under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Pema Khandu.
The Kaling Tayeng Committee on restructuring the Arunachal Pradesh Civil Service was deliberated in detail. The Cabinet approved in principle a major part of the Committee’s recommendation, which is expected to pave the way for a robust state civil service.
The Cabinet approved the MoA to be signed with the central public sector undertakings for the development of hydropower in the state. This will help unlock five potential hydroelectric projects with a total installed capacity of 2820 MW.
The government expects these projects to attract huge investments in the state and generate employment.
The Cabinet also approved the proposal for the renewal of MoA and support to four events – Arunachal Got Talent, Arunachal Idol, Miss Arunachal and Mr Arunachal – for another three years as annual calendar events with effect from fiscal 2023-24.
It was further decided to increase the grant-in-aid for each of the above events from Rs 40 lakh to Rs 80 lakh. These platforms have nurtured talented youths who have made the state proud at the national level, a government spokesperson said.
