Guwahati: Arunachal womens football team has made it to the quarter finals of the ongoing Hero Junior (U-17) Women’s National Football Championship-2022 after it defeated Goa by 3-0 in their last group stage match of the competition on Saturday.
The match was played at the Nehru Stadium here.
Unbeaten in the competition so far, Arunachal took the lead in the 3rd minute of the first half through a strike from Tallo Ana.
Player in form, Angel Tayang extended Arunachal’s lead by scoring her third goal of the campaign in the 56th minute while Ana added one more to her goal tally by scoring in the in 67th minute.
Angel received her second player of the match award of the competition for her exquisite performance.

Elated with the qualification, Arunachal head coach Kipa Bharat said: “We are glad to have remained unbeaten in the competition so far and qualify for the knockout stage. Giving one’s best is the only key to success of this team and we will continue to do so in days to come”.

Arunachal will face Chhattisgarh in the second quarter final match on June 29.
