Arunachal: ANYA reiterates demand for Khandu’s resignation

The ANYA has been alleging that there are several charges of corruption against CM Khandu.

Itanagar: The All Nyishi Youth Association (ANYA) has served a 15-day ultimatum to the state government reiterating its earlier demand for resignation of Chief Minister Pema Khandu from his post.

ANYA president Byabang Joram, in a press statement on Saturday threatened that his association would “re-start its democratic movement” if its earlier charter of demands is not fulfilled and the chief minister does not resign within the given timeframe.

“Not only is chief minister Khandu complicit in the power (Deen Dayal Upadhaya Gram Jyoti Yojna, hydropower, Sampoorna Grameen Rozgar Yojana and Panchyati Raj fund scams but he is also personally involved in looting public money,” the ANYA alleged.

The association further said that chief minister Khandu should make a public statement on his and his family’s commercial interests in all the major road projects of the state.

“Using his power and position, CM Khandu is running the biggest road project syndicate in the history of Arunachal Pradesh,” the association said.

The ANYA has been alleging that there are several charges of corruption against the chief minister.

Several other allegations have also been leveled against Khandu by the union for which it had also enforced a 36-hour-bandh call in January this year.

The allegations have, however, been termed “baseless” by the government.
