APCC demands impartial probe into ‘murder’ of Tasso Grayu

Tasso Grayu

Itanagar: The Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) has demanded a free and impartial investigation into the alleged murder of veteran Congress leader Tasso Grayu.

Grayu was reportedly stabbed with a sharp weapon near Tasso Lapang at Hari Village in Ziro at around 8.30 pm on March 22 last.

A case has been registered at the Ziro police station regarding the incident and the investigation is presently underway.

APPC vice-president Rajen Nani in a statement said Grayu was a loyal member of the Congress party and played a significant role in shaping the party in the state.

He was well-known for his versatility, not only as a political leader but also for his vast erudition in tradition, culture, and other contemporary fields. His death is a great loss to the state, Nani said.

Nani said the Congress party will not tolerate if justice is not delivered timely. He also claimed that the miscreants took advantage of non-installation of CCTV at Hari village.

“The entire Apatani villages in Ziro-Hapoli Assembly Constituency are covered with CCTV cameras, but unfortunately, there was no CCTV installed in Hari village, which the unknown miscreant took advantage of,” he said.

The committee has also urged the authorities concerned to take swift action to ensure that the guilty is/are brought to justice.
