Thrilling Showdown: Arunachal all set to host 5th Jr Boy’s Nat’l Boxing C’ship

Itanagar: Arunachal’s capital city Itanagar is all set to host the 5th Junior Boy’s National Boxing Championship from July 9 to 14 next.

The highly anticipated sporting event will see the participation of more than 500 boxers from 26 different states, including Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, and Chandigarh. The championship aims to promote boxing as a sport and foster national integration.

The prestigious championship will take place at the Don Bosco College in Itanagar, which boasts excellent facilities and accommodations for all participants.

Not only will the championship showcase the skills and talents of young boxers from across the country, but it will also serve as a platform for cultural exchange and the sharing of ideas among the participants, a statement from the Arunachal Amateur Boxing Association (AABA) said.

The local organizing committee, led by the AABA, is fully prepared to welcome players and officials from all states. Their meticulous preparations and dedication to ensuring a successful tournament have garnered praise from both participants and organizers.

As the boxing fraternity eagerly awaits the inauguration on July 09, all eyes will be on Arunachal Pradesh as it steps into the national spotlight, showcasing its enthusiasm for sports and its ability to host a grand event that will leave a lasting impact on the youth of the state and the nation as a whole.

The AABA has expressed its gratitude to the Boxing Federation of India (BFI) for granting them the opportunity to organize this national championship, marking a significant milestone for the state.

AABA secretary general Teli Kahi while highlighting the importance of this event said that this the first national-level boxing tournament in Arunachal Pradesh since the country’s independence, as well as the 26th year of AABA’s existence.

Biri Chattum, the association’s vice president emphasized the positive impact this championship will have on the youth of Arunachal Pradesh.

Earlier Sports and Youth Affairs secretary Abu Tayeng and Arunachal Olympic Association secretary general Bamang Tago along with Kahi and Chattum handed over the kits to Arunachalee boxers.
