Aalo: Liromoba MLA and advisor to the home minister, Nyamar Karbak on Wednesday inaugurated the police square at the SP’s office here in presence of West Siang superintendent of police Raja Banthia.
The police square consists of a martyrs’ column, a flag base and a pillar commemorating 50 years of the Arunachal Pradesh Police. The square was constructed in remembrance of and to pay tribute to all the police personnel who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.
The inaugural function was followed by the unfurling of the national flag by the MLA and a wreath-laying ceremony as a tribute to Constable Tapop Yajo, who died while on duty at the chief judicial magistrate court in 2020.
The ceremony was carried out in presence of the martyr’s family members.
Following the inauguration, Karbak interacted with the police personnel and appreciated the works and efforts of the West Siang police.
SP Banthia thanked the MLA for his contributions to the district police.
