Namsai: Arunachal Pradesh deputy chief minister Chowna Mein on Monday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has not only provided good governance in the last 8 years but also changed the political culture of the country.
“PM Modi has been leading our nation since 2014 and during that period several monumental decisions and life changing developmental schemes have been implemented across the country. This in turn has won the confidence of the masses,” Mein said.
The deputy chief minister was addressing the ‘Seva, Sushasan Aur Garib Kalyan Parv’ organized by the Namsai unit of BJP at the district headquarters here.
The 15-day long programme (June 1-15) was organized across the country to commemorate PM Modi’s eight years of successful governance and to facilitate successful flagship programmes and schemes.
Mein said the entire country is at present celebrating the Azadi Ka Amrit Mohatsav under the leadership of PM Modi to mark 75 years of India’s independence and the PM’s vision for the next 25 years (when India attains 100 years of Independence) is that the country should emerge as the world leader in all aspects.
Further highlighting the mantras and initiatives of the Modi-led like ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayaas’, seva hi sangathan, nation first approach, development of villages, zero tolerance policy towards terrorism and corruption, etc. Mein said India has witnessed a paradigm shift towards people-centric governance in the last 8 years. The DCM also highlighted the contributions of the unsung heroes of Arunachal towards India’s struggle for freedom while mentioning the Tai Khamti Rebellion of 1839 and the Ango-Abor wars fought in 1858, 1859, 1893-94 and 1911-12.
He said the Central government is also working towards making North East the new engine of India’s growth and the region has witnessed remarkable development in the past 8 years.
Mein also spoke of the Prime Minister Development Initiative for Northeast (or PM-DevINE) which was announced in the Union Budget 2022-23.
The scheme will fund infrastructure in the spirit of PM Gati Shakti, and social development projects based on felt needs of the North East.
Addressing the party leaders and karyakartas, state BJP general secretary Chau Zingnu Namchoom appealed to them to create awareness about various people-centric schemes of the state and central government.
Lekang MLA Jummum Ete Deori, national executive member of BJP Minority Morcha Jojo Jose and Namsai district president Chau Sujana Namchoom also spoke on the occasion.
The dignitaries later also flagged off a bike rally.
The ‘Seva, Sushasan Aur Garib Kalyan Parv’ was also celebrated at Aalo, the headquarters of West Siang district on Tuesday.
Industries minister Tumke Bagra and MLAs Nyamar Karbak and Kento Jini who participated in the programme highlighted various achievements of the PM Modi-led government in the last 8 years.
