Ruksin: In a commendable display of community solidarity and support for healthcare services, a voluntary blood donation drive was organized here in East Siang district as part of the ongoing Seva Phakwada, Ayushman Bhav Abhiyan.
The event was a collaborative effort between the Bakin Pertin General Hospital (BPGH), Pasighat, Tasi Panggeng Community Health Centre (FRU) and the socially conscious BROS group, comprising individuals from BILAT, RUKSIN, and OYAN Sille, along with the Legong Banggo Students Union (LBSU).
The event was hosted at the FRU Ruksin on Friday.
A total of 18 units of blood were collected during the day-long programme, significantly contributing to the maintenance of blood units at BPGH and the recently inaugurated blood storage unit at FRU Ruksin.
“This initiative aims to ensure the timely availability of blood for transfusions, thereby facilitating immediate medical assistance to those in need,” the organizers said.
Dr Kadum Jonnom, the medical officer in-charge, expressed deep appreciation for the enthusiastic participation of BROS, LBSU, and all volunteer donors. He emphasized the vital role that community-driven initiatives play in boosting the morale of healthcare providers, who tirelessly work day and night to save lives.
Furthermore, the BROS and LBSU have committed to organizing similar blood donation camps periodically, underscoring their dedication to supporting local healthcare initiatives.
