Itanagar: The Parents Joint Committee Against Null and Void (PJC) has expressed its appreciation for the Pan Arunachal Joint Steering Action Committee (PAJSC) to eliminate the contentious ‘Null and Void’ point from their 13-point charter of demands.
In response, the PJC is seeking a round table meeting with the PAJSC before joining forces for a shared cause.
In a press release issued on Wednesday, the PJC said that it welcomes the PAJSC’s move to drop contentious null & void points from their charter of demands and expressed hope that this will pave the way for a united voice against corruption.
PJC general secretary, Ajay Matam, emphasized the necessity of a round table meeting between executive members of PAJSAC and PJC to gain clarity on the ‘Null and Void’ issue before collaboration on a common cause.
“While we extend our full support to PAJSC in pursuing complete reformation of the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC), we would like a round table meeting between executive members of PAJSC and PJC to have full and final clarity on the ‘Null & Void’ issue before we all join hands together for a common cause,” Matam said.
PJC has further appealed to PAJSC to not pursue legal actions against the interests of families and children who have earned their respective positions through hard work and merit.
“Hence, as parents, we expect PAJSC would give such assurance in writing so that our agitating minds and hearts may find respite,” Matam said.
While acknowledging the state government’s efforts in addressing the APPSC paper leak fiasco, PJC urged the government to promptly constitute a new Commission and complete the pending exams.
Additionally, they called for the formulation of a robust Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the APPSC, incorporating suggestions from all stakeholders and the aspirant community to restore faith in the commission.
The PAJSC, in a recent press conference had announced the withdrawal of the demand to declare APPSC exams null & void.
However, they had stated their intention to approach the court regarding the demand to declare the compromised APPSC exams null and void.
