Nonya Chimyang is Miss Chalo Loku 2022

Khonsa: Twenty-six-year-old Nonya Chimyang was crowned Miss Chalo Loku 2022 in a glittering ceremony held at the Nehru Stadium here on Wednesday night.

With the win, Chimyanga, daughter of Khunyam Chimyang and a native of Lapnan village in Tirap district, walked home with a certificate and a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh.

The beauty pageant which was organized by the 54th Nocte Chalo Loku Celebration Committee saw Changoi Sumnyan and Kamngun Tangjang being crowned the first and second runners up and win cash prizes of Rs 50,000 and Rs 30,000 respectively.

Ngamnya Lowang won the Miss Catwalk title while Lovecha Homcha Lowang and Kammiat Tonrang bagged the Miss Beautiful Smile and Miss Best Costume titles respectively.

The cash prizes for the winners were sponsored by Nocte Women Association chairperson Chasuam Wangchadong.

Khonsa EAC Hakresha Kri, Longo circle officer Dr Ripi Doni and All Tangsa Students Union (ATSU) vice-president Lomsong Kanglom were the judges of the beauty pageant.

Namsai MLA and state BJP general secretary Chow Jingnu Namchoom who gave away the prizes to winners lauded the Nocte Chalo Loku Celebration Committee led by its president Wanghong Panka and general secretary Phorchun Mema for successfully organizing the grand event.

Also present on the occasion were MLAs Wanglam Sawin and Wanglin Lowangdong, Tirap DC Taro Mize, SP Kardak Riba, 54-NCL president Wanghong Panka, cultural secretary Manlang Agi and officers from the Assam Rifles, CRPF and the Indian Army.

Performances of Arunachal Idol Season 4 winner Baby Mossang, rock band from Guwahati and renowned local singers Manlang Agi, Toangi Agi, Watmo Mema and Monglin Mongwang enthralled the audience.
