Man “attempts assault, urinates” in VKV Chimpu principal’s office

VKV, Chimpu

Itanagar: In a shocking incident this morning, an individual created a ruckus at the Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya  VKV Chimpu principal’s office, attempting to manhandle the principal, damaging office property, and even urinating inside the premises.

The incident reportedly stemmed from the individual’s dissatisfaction over his children not being admitted to the school.

According to VKV Chimpu Principal A Krishnan, “the individual, who claimed to be a government teacher, entered his office during the morning assembly on Monday and started creating a disturbance.”

“As I was not present in the office at that time and attending the assembly, the teachers informed me that the man started to vandalize the furniture and tried to assault them. When one of the teachers tried to stop him, he urinated in the office,” Krishnan stated.

“He was, for some reason, unhappy about his children not being admitted to the school, although his son is enrolled in Class II,” Krishnan added, further informing that the matter was later reported to the police.

Upon receiving the distress call from the principal, the police promptly dispatched a team from the Police Control Room (PCR) to intervene and provide assistance.

Additionally, the duty officer of Chimpu police station was directed to attend to the matter immediately for further action.

The VKV Alumni Association (VKVAA) has strongly condemned the incident.

“This incident has raised concerns about the safety and security of the staff and personnel at VKV Chimpu, which has for decades played a crucial role in shaping the future of students in the region.  The incident at VKV Chimpu serves as a reminder of the challenges faced by educational institutions and underscores the need for measures to safeguard the well-being of their staff,” the association said in a statement.

The VKVAA has also appealed to all the community-based organisations (CBOs) to intervene in such matters stating that times have changed violence would not help solve any problems.
