Itanagar: The karate team of Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU) has bagged a total of four medals, including one gold at the Khelo India University Games-2022.
Representing RGU, where Yame Gyadi won gold for the university in the women’s kumite 55 kg event, Sanjay Gamnu and Yaki Dignium managed to bag bronze medals in the men’s and women’s 68 kg competition respectively.
The women kumite team of RGU represented by Dignium, Karsang Yanga, and Reyum Haji also won bronze in the team event.
The RGU team was led by Dr Tadang Minu as the team manager and Prakash Limbu as the coach.

The event which was inaugurated by vice-president M Venkaiah Naidu on April 24 came to an end on Tuesday.
RGU vice-chancellor Prof Saket Kushwaha and registrar Dr N T Rikam congratulated the karatekas for the feat and reiterated the university’s commitment towards upliftment in games and sports.
