Dibrugarh: Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein on Saturday took part in the 9th Annual Central Sukapha Divas, a significant event organized by the Tai Ahom Yuva Parishad (TAYPA) Central Committee in collaboration with the Moran Sub-Division & Moran Regional Committees.
The event, held at Moran Tiloy Gramya Bazar Playground, Tiloi Nagar, Moran, Dibrugarh, brought together esteemed dignitaries to honor the historical figure Chaulung Sukapha.
The event also saw DCM Mein being honored with the Chaulung Sukapha Bor Asom Samannay Award by the Tai Ahom Yuva Parishad, Assam.
Expressing gratitude, he acknowledged the award’s profound significance, viewing it as an inspiration to further contribute to the rich cultural tapestry and progress of the region.
Emphasizing the event’s role in reminding attendees of Chaulung Sukapha’s historical contributions and the enduring spirit of unity in Assam, Mein expressed optimism that the legacy of unity and cultural richness would continue to guide and inspire the people of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.
Acknowledging the warm hospitality extended by the organizing committee and the people of Assam, he extended his thanks during this historic event dedicated to the revered ruler.
Mein also paid heartfelt respects to Assam’s revered ruler, Chaulung Sukapha.
He highlighted the historical significance, noting that Chaulung Sukapha defended the region with valor, safeguarding the entire northeastern region beyond Assam.
As the first king of the Ahom dynasty, Chaulung Sukapha played a pivotal role in laying the foundation of Assam. His legacy is marked by the principles of peace, prosperity, goodwill, and mutual respect among diverse ethnic groups. Sukapha’s life continues to inspire commitment to nation-building, uniting the region through visionary leadership and leaving an indelible mark of brotherhood.
His courageous efforts not only established the framework for ‘Bor Assam’ but also crafted an identity that intricately wove this sacred land into a framework of unity, creating a lasting impact on the cultural and historical landscape of the region.
