Donyi Polo Airport to operate 7 days a week

Itanagar: In a significant development for air travellers in Arunachal Pradesh, the Donyi Polo Airport in Hollongi will now be operational seven days a week.

This was announced by Chief Minister Pema Khandu via a social media post on Friday.

According to the chief minister, the Donyi Polo Airport, managed by the Airports Authority of India (AAI), has also received an upgraded airport license for night landing, allowing for the operation of evening flights starting this summer.

Chief Minister Pema Khandu expressed his excitement over the development, highlighting the positive impact it will have on travel and tourism in the region.

“Yet another leap in seamless connectivity! Exciting news for travellers flying from Donyi Polo Airport, Itanagar! The Airport now will be operational for all seven days.

The @AAI_Official has already upgraded the Airport Licence for night landing which will enable operation of evening flights from Summer,” Khandu wrote on X, formerly twitter.

He thanked the AAI for their efforts in upgrading the airport facilities, noting the increased accessibility and opportunities that will result from the extended operational hours and improved landing capabilities.

The expansion of operating days and the introduction of night landing facilities at Donyi Polo Airport is expected to enhance connectivity to and from the region, providing greater convenience and flexibility for passengers.
