CSL exam fiasco: APSSB assures appropriate action against officials, candidate’s result withheld

Itanagar: The Arunachal Pradesh Staff Selection Board (APSSB) has launched an inquiry into a concerning incident where a candidate, allegedly found violating examination rules, managed to secure a spot on the provisional list of the recently conducted Combined Secondary Level Examination (CSLE)-2023.

In an official statement issued on Tuesday, APSSB additional secretary, Duly Kamduk, stated that “appropriate action, as per norms, will be taken against the examination officials involved while the result of the candidate bearing roll number 2035485 has been withheld.”

The APSSB also said that the resolution process is set to conclude within 25 days.

According to the press release, the candidate was caught with a question paper by an invigilator while returning from the toilet at GSS Sector, P-Sector, Itanagar, around 11:10 am on the exam day.

Another candidate had informed the invigilator about the incident, prompting immediate action.

“The Centre Superintendent, upon reaching the scene, found the candidate in possession of the question paper. Although the toilet block was thoroughly checked and the candidate frisked, no other suspicious materials were recovered. The question paper, too, showed no markings. Surprisingly, the Centre Superintendent failed to report the incident to the APSSB, citing the absence of any evidence beyond the possession of the question paper and the candidate’s alleged lack of awareness regarding the rules,” the press release said.

The incident came to light after the provisional shortlist was declared on December 09 and subsequently gained attention on social media platforms.
