Miao: Responding to recent reports of alleged Chakma incursions into the Mishmi region, specifically at the Kathan Village of Lohit district, the Changlang additional deputy commissioner has issued a stern warning to Chakma residents residing in the settlement area within Miao sub-division to refrain from such actions.

This directive comes in light of the ongoing territorial disputes and concerns raised by the All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AAPSU).

The order, released by ADC A. J. Lungphi and dated September 20, underscores the critical importance of respecting the established boundaries between Changlang and Lohit districts.

The order, which is available with NewsFy, also references a government notification issued on June 10, 2023, which reaffirmed the inviolability of district boundaries.

Furthermore, the ADC has directed the Chakma residents of the settlement area under Miao sub-division against encroaching beyond the mutually agreed boundary into the Lohit side, particularly in the vicinity of Kathan and Tumba Villages.

The order has also been forwarded to the deputy commissioners and administrative officers of Changlang and Lohit districts and local village leaders, with a strong emphasis on strict adherence to the same.
