Arunachal: Students demand immediate installation of 4G towers

Yingkiong: The Geku-Katan Intellectual Youth Forum (GKIYF), in collaboration with several student organizations, organized a peaceful foot march from Geku to Yingkiong in Upper Siang district.

The purpose of the march was to demand the immediate installation of 4G mobile network towers in Katan circle and Sumsing village of Geku circle.

The participants embarked on a 45-kilometer rally, with more than 50 students representing different organizations, including the All Geku Students’ Union, All Sumsing Students’ Association, All Sibum Students’ Association, All Jeru Students’ Union, All Pongging Students’ Union, All Padu Students’ Union, and All Silli Jeying Students’ Union.

“Despite numerous appeals and representations, the aforementioned villages have been deprived of adequate telecommunication connectivity and internet services in their vicinity. This lack of connectivity has left the residents of Katan Circle in a state of isolation, disconnected from the rest of the world, the students alleged.

The organizing entities emphasized that their democratic movement will persist until their demand for improved connectivity is met.
