Arunachal: Missing Assam youths found dead in West Kameng

The youths had reportedly left for Tawang from Assam’s Nagaon on Tuesday.

Itanagar: Four youths from Assam who had gone missing since a couple of days ago in Arunachal Pradesh were found dead on Saturday following a fatal car crash.

The bodies of all the youths were recovered from the Sessa area near Bhalukpong in West Kameng district, police said.

Police officials said there is every possibility that the car they were travelling skidded off the road and fell into a gorge, around 3 km away from the Zero Point area near Sessa.

The deceased have been identified as Nayan Basumatary (30), Hirok Boro (32), Bedanta Barmahela (30) and Sanjiv Das (34).

The family members of the youths have reached Bhalukpong and the legal and medical formalities were being conducted till the time of filing this report.

The youths had reportedly left for Tawang from Assam’s Nagaon on Tuesday in a four-wheeler but had gone missing after reaching Dirang valley in West Kameng district.
