Itanagar: C K Mein, an IPS officer of the of 2004 batch of Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram and Union Territory (AGMUT) cadre from Arunachal Pradesh has been promoted to the rank of an Inspector General of Police (IGP) by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India considering his contributions in service.
The MHA had earlier promoted Mein along with six other IPS officers from the northeastern state namely Hibu Tamang, Mari Riba, Isaac Pertin, R K Khirmey, Michi Paku and Take Ringu to the rank of a DIGP in April 2018.
Tamang, Pertin, Riba and Khirmey were then promoted to an IGP earlier this year.
Meanwhile, deputy chief minister Chowna Mein has congratulated the newly promoted IGP on his elevation.
“Hearty congratulations to Shri C K Mein, IPS (AGMUT: 2004) on being promoted to the IGP Grade by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt of India. May you achieve more heights in your career ahead and continue to serve the nation with renewed vigour and sincerity. My best wishes in all your future endeavours, the DCM said in a social media post on Wednesday.
