Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh BJP president Biyuram Wahge in the presence of senior party leaders and karyakartas launched the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign’ at the party’s headquarters here on Thursday.
Organized as a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign is an initiative of the Central government to encourage and inspire organisations, institutions and citizens of the country to hoist the National Flag at their respective premises.
Addressing the occasion, Wahge said that the idea behind the campaign is to invoke the feeling of patriotism and to remember the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters for India’s independence.
He informed that the campaign would be launched by the state BJP at every district, block, village and booth level to ensure that the national flag reaches every household and the people hoist the same.
BJP state secretary Joram Tat said as part of the initiative, not only the public shall be encouraged to hoist the national flag at their respective homes but the campaign shall give an opportunity to all to involve themselves in the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations.
The Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is an initiative of the Government of India to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of independence and the glorious history of its people, culture and achievements.
Tat further said that the people of Arunachal Pradesh are very patriotic and that can be witnessed in every nook and corner of the state.
Party vice-president Yalam Taga Burang lauded the Government of India for launching the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign and making available the national flags for the people at a minimal rate.
She, however, said that only buying the flag would not serve the purpose as one must also accord it the highest respect and honor.
Among others, the programme was attended by BJP state general secretaries Chau Zingnu Namchoom and Nalong Mize, vice-president Tarh Tarak, state secretaries Ashok Sangchuju, Toko Yapa, Taring Tiri, Yuva Morcha president Ram Tajo, ST Morcha president Hinium Tacho and party spokesperson Techi Necha.
