Arunachal football prodigy Gyamar Nikum joins Mumbai City FC

Itanagar: Mumbai City FC has confirmed the signing of Arunachalee football prodigy Gyamar Nikum, subject to medical.

Mumbai City can confirm that the club has reached an agreement with Rajasthan United for the transfer of Gyamar Nikum. The transfer is subject to a medical, the club said in a statement on Sunday.

Media reports, however, suggested that the deal has already been completed and is set to run for a duration of five years.

Eighteen-year-old Nikum, who will be joining Mumbai City FC from Rajasthan United, will undergo a medical test in Mumbai on January 23. He is expected to sign the official papers one the tests are complete.

Speaking to NewsFy, Nikum said the transfer is a “dream come true” moment for him.

“I am super excited and really looking forward to playing for Mumbai City FC which is one of the biggest clubs in the country.  I think this is a great opportunity for me to develop, prove myself and help the team achieve more,” he said.

Mumbai City FC is a professional Indian football club based in Mumbai, Maharashtra and competes in the Indian Super League (ISL).

With only five games left and unbeaten in the 2023 season, the club is at present on its way to win its second ISL title after 2021.
