Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein inaugurated a slew of developmental projects during his visit to Deomali, a sub-division of Tirap district on Monday.
Mein on the day inaugurated a single span (25m) RCC Bridge over Namchu River, a 0.10 minimal liquid discharge (MLD) water treatment plant at Namsang, an indigenous prayer hall (Rangsoam Hum) at Natun Kethi Village and a primary health centre at Natun Kethi village.
He also inaugurated the single span (35m) RCC Bridge over Bari River and the Mahabodhi Wisdom Rising School run by Mahabodhi Educational Cultural and Social Welfare Society at Deomali.
The RCC Bridge over Namchu River will connect Hukanjuri with Deomali without touching Assam, while the one over Bari River will connect the adjoining villages to the Changlang-Khonsa Trans-Arunachal Highway and shorten the travel time by almost 2 and half hours.
Addressing a public meeting that followed later at the Natun Kethi village, Mein said the state government is giving its best to ensure that development reaches all the nook and corners of the state.
“It is essential for us to visit the interior and remote places to get first-hand knowledge of their conditions. The basic philosophy of this year’s budget is ‘no citizen be left behind’ and I am here to make sure that development and benefits of the government schemes reach the last man of the society,” the deputy chief minister said.
Mein said the state government is also giving its best to provide clean tap water to every household in Arunachal Pradesh under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) by 2023, a year ahead of the national target and the government is committed to achieve the same.
He called upon the people to minimize water wastage and also protect the catchment areas which are the main sources of water.
Mein further urged the youths of the area to shun wrong paths and instead avail the benefits of various government schemes like Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Swalamban Yojana, Chief Minister Paryatan Yojana, etc. and become self-reliant.
He also assured to look into the memorandums submitted by the villagers in a phased manner.
PHE and Water Sanitation minister and Namsang MLA Wangki Lowang, Tirap deputy commissioner Taro Mize, superintendent of police Kardak Riba, heads of departments, PRI leaders and others accompanied the deputy chief minister during his visit.
