Yupia: Taket Jerang, the prime accused in the APPSC paper leak case on Friday filed an “interlocutory application (IA)” in the district and sessions court here against the order passed by the court that granted a narco analysis test on him.

Jerang filed the application stating that the test cannot be carried out without his consent.

Speaking to reporters, advocate and counsel of the aggrieved aspirants Tapi Omo said that the court after going through the application has fixed January 20 as the date for the hearing on the same.

IA is an application to ask the court to make certain orders or prohibiting something from being done.

The special investigation cell (SIC) of the state police had last week sought permission to carry out a narco analysis test on Jerang from the court while reasoning that he was not revealing the entire truth of the paper leak scam.

The court had given it the permission to go ahead with the same.

Meanwhile, Omo also informed that the court on Friday granted an interim bail of 2 weeks to Iken Bagra, one of the accused in the case.

Iken is the father of accused Kenjum Bagra and Kender Bagra.

“Iken had sought bail for his wife’s treatment who is suffering from a kidney problem. The court after going through the referral letter provided by the Aalo general hospital granted the same,” Omo said.

A bail application was also sought by another accused Tama Saroh and the court has fixed January 20 next as the date for the hearing, he added.
