Itanagar: The Arunachal Pradesh Amateur Karate-Do Association (APAKA) on Wednesday felicitated the four karatekas who secured top honors in the recently concluded 7th South Asian Karate Championship in Kathmandu, Nepal.
The state’s contingent delivered an outstanding performance bagging three gold and one bronze medal in different categories.
Displaying exceptional prowess, where Pala Dodum clinched the gold medal in the 67 kg kumite event, state’s emerging star Lipin Ete showcased her mastery in kata, securing a gold medal in the junior category with a flawless individual performance.
The third gold was won by Khyoda Talik in the junior individual kata category while Machi Liyak brought home a bronze medal in the individual kumite event.
Dr Marli Ete, the coach of the Indian team, shared valuable insights about the championship, commending the dedication and stellar performance of the players.
APAKA president, Kyoshi Yarda Niki, extended heartfelt congratulations to the triumphant players, while general secretary, John Bagang, urged them to persevere on their path to excellence.
Arunachal Olympic Association treasurer, Kyoshi Bulang Marik, also congratulated the players and assured financial support for their future endeavors.
