Itanagar: The Arunachal Contractor’s Welfare Association (AACWA) has called on contractors responsible for NH-415 (Package B), stretching from Papunallah to Nirjuli, to urgently bolster their workforce and machinery allocation to accelerate project progress.
The AACWA noted that the current deployment falls short of project requirements, resulting in prolonged neglect of key elements like RCC culverts and protection walls.
In particular, the AACWA in a statement on Monday highlighted the viability of expediting work from Papunallah, near the police station, to Niba Hospital, a section that remains untouched.
The association has further urged Chief Minister Pema Khandu, who also oversees the PWD, to step in and issue strong directives to contractors, emphasizing the need for immediate action.
“The deteriorating condition of the vital highway connecting the twin capital cities of Itanagar and Naharlagun has caused severe disruptions. Government operations have been hampered as officers struggle to commute due to traffic jams. Moreover, the education sector is also adversely affected, with school children enduring long waits at bus stops during school hours, impacting their education and well-being,” Nabam Akin Hina, the association’s president said.
The AACWA has called for swift intervention to address these issues, recognizing their impact on both government functions and community welfare.
