Itanagar: Governor Brig (Retd) B D Mishra was on Tuesday given the additional charge of Mizroam, according to a communiqué from the Raj Bhawan here.
Gauhati High Court Judge, Justice Michael Zothankhuma administered the oath of office to Mishra at the Darbar Hall of Raj Bhavan, Aizawl.
Mizoram chief minister Zoramthanga, deputy chief minister Tawnluia, Speaker of the State Legislative Assembly Lalrinliana Sailo, council of ministers and leaders of political parties were present in the swearing-in ceremony.
Mishra will discharge the functions of the Governor of Mizoram, in addition to his own duties, during the absence on leave of Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati, Governor of Mizoram, the communiqué added.
Mishra is the 23rd Governor of Mizoram. Meanwhile, Sikkim Governor Ganga Prasad has been given the additional charge of Manipur.
