Itanagar: A 13-member team of the Arunachal State Badminton Association (ASBA), including officials, left for Pune, Maharashtra on Wednesday to participate in the Yonex-Sunrise 75th Inter State-Inter Zonal & 84th Senior National Badminton Championships.
The 6-day event that got underway on Wednesday would conclude on February 28 next.
The Arunachal contingent includes ace shuttlers of the state like Laa Talar who along with Laa Tukum and Bikom Boje would be competing in the men’s singles of the championships.
While Pinky Karki, Laa Yajum and Montily Pul would be representing the state in the women’s singles events, shuttlers Chau K Manpang and Sonam Tamang will be competing in the men’s doubles category of the championships.
Pinky will also pair up with Taring Yania for the women’s doubles competitions along with Montily and her partner Gunzan Gongo.
Charu Jaji and Yania will compete in the mixed doubles events.
The Arunachal team is led by Nabam Tado and Gita Karki as manager and coach respectively.
