22 students, staff of RKMS Deomali test positive for Covid-19

Itanagar: The Rama Krishna Mission School (RKMS) in Narrottam Nagar, Deomali has been declared a containment zone by the Tirap district administration after 22 students and staff of the institution tested positive for Covid-19 on Monday.

According to the containment order issued by Deomali additional deputy commissioner in-charge Akan Regon, the information of the students and staff testing positive for the virus was shared by the Deomali community health center medical officer-in-charge.

Regon said the entire campus of the school has been converted into a containment zone prohibiting the entry and exit of any person to and from the zone for a period of 10 days or until further orders.

Medical staff and those providing healthcare and essential services, police personnel and the magistrate on duty have been exempted from the restrictions, the ADC said.

“All vehicles and persons commuting through the main road within the RKMS campus from Mopaya to Deomali and vice-versa shall be allowed to ply without stopping at the campus. This order shall come into force with immediate effect,” the order read.
