Arunachal: HoDs, PRIs urged to coordinate for development

Sona also called for coordinated efforts from all the other government officials and PRI members to fulfill the aspirations of the public.

Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh legislative assembly speaker P D Sona on Monday made a clarion call to the heads of departments (HoDs) and PRI leaders of Shi-Yomi to work in unison for the overall development of the district.

Acknowledging that the officials posted in the remote district are facing numerous hardships due to various factors, he urged upon them to try and overcome the same for the greater interest of the district.

“You (HoDs) are the backbone of the government and I am always there to help you,” Sona said, while addressing a coordination meeting of the Shi-Yomi district at his office here.

The speaker also called for coordinated efforts from all the other government officials and PRI members to fulfill the aspirations of the public.

He urged them to go beyond the call of duty and serve the society.

Stressing on development of agriculture, horticulture and other allied sectors in the district, Sona suggested to the departments concerned that the schemes of the government should reach all genuine beneficiaries while maintaining transparency.

Shi-Yomi zilla parishad chairperson Yadom Tapo and zilla parishad members Maling Koje (Mechuka) and Tagam Jempen (Monigong) also shared their views and requested the government officials, especially HoDs for their support and guidance for implementation of various projects and schemes in the district. 

The HoDs also took part in the discussion and placed their grievances and issues confronting their departments such as absence of ministerial staff, staff quarters, accommodation, etc.

Shi-Yomi deputy commissioner Mito Dirchi also assured full support of the district administration to overcome the challenges being faced by the departments.

He, however, reiterated that coordinated efforts from PRI leaders and government officials are prerequisite for development to take place in the district.
